BMW proudly presents its new F10 BMW M5. Featuring a higher level of design distinction than the previous F10 BMW cars, this amazing car is undoubtedly a high performance flagship.
M5 features a subtle boot lid spoiler on the rear, while the bumper reflectors are positioned nearer to the tail lights. Unlike the M Sport, the lower part of the M5 bumper is more aggressive, matching the classic quad tailpipes.
Similar to the engine in X5/X6 M, the M5`s is a 4.4 liter twin-scroll twin-turbo V8, but the power output is higher at 560 hp. Peak torque remains the same at 680Nm from 1,500rpm.
Conventional throttle is not longer needed, as the Valve tronic valve control has been cramped into the cylinder heads. Each intake valve functions as its own throttle, therefore the new V8 basically has 16 individual throttles (there are 2 intake valves per cylinder).
In comparison with the M turbo V8 engine found in the X5 and X6 models, the new engine brings other improvements, too. There is an increase in boot up from 1.2 bar to 1.5 bar, an augmentation in cylinder compression ratio from 9.3:1 to 10.0:1, a rise in peak horsepower from 5,750rpm to 6,000rpm (sustained up to 7,000rpm), and a increase in red line by 200rpm to 7,200rpm.
F10 BMW M5`s engine is paired with a 7-speed BMW M DCT twin clutch transmission, which controls the Active M Differential of the rear axle. The transmission has its own bespoke shifter and shifter surround.
With a top speed of 305km/h, the M5 speeds from 0 to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds. The top speed is default limited to 250km/h in case you don`t purchase the M Driver`s Package.
There are two options for the wheels. On one hand you can choose 20 inch forged wheels with 5 slim double spokes called Style 343M, on the other hand you can opt for 19 inch wheels with double amount of double spokes called Style 345M. Still, the standard M5 comes with the 345M design.
Colors have been also changed. The instrumentation cluster comes with white back lighting and red needles. The black panel multi-info display located on the lower half of the display is rendered in a light blue shade. The iDrive menu system also follows the same blue theme.
As for the suspension system, it features Dynamic Damper Control, as well as Comfort Mode, Sport Mode and Sport Plus Mode.
