2012 Mazda RX-7

After being absent for more than 10 years Mazda will launch 2012 Mazda RX-7, a new addition to its sports cars. This model will be launched in 2012 and it will have two important features: it will be the fastest Mazda RX-7 ever launched by the producer and it will be a hybrid.

The rumors regarding the launch of the Mazda RX-7 have been going on for quite a while, five years to be exact, but it seems that next year it will happen. We do not have a lot of information regarding this model because developments have just begun but we are sure that at the beginning of 2012 we will have a full presentation. Mazda did not choose 2012 without a specific reason, it seems that next year Mazda RX-8 will turn nine years old meaning that it is time to retire and let another model take its place, and that will be the Mazda RX-7.

The Mazda RX-7 has been on the market for a very long time. It started in 1977 when the first model was launched, back then the car had only two seats and a rotary engine. The modification first appeared in 1986 when the company added made it convertible and add it size, this did not influence the sales at all. The following modification were made in 1993 and 1995 when a new engine was added, with a power of 250 hp, four doors and four passenger seats.

There are rumors that say the Mazda RX-7 will be a two door coupe but other than that it will be inspired from MX-5. As far as the styling is concerned the interior and the exterior have been inspired from the 2006 Kabura which means that we will have: an arched roof, aggressive nose, big wheels, a prominent front fender and traditional proportions for the long and short deck.

As you can see from the data the Mazda RX-7 will not be a luxurious car but it will be a sports car which will be purchased at a medium price. The elements which will be available for the standard version are: 18´´ wheels, ABS for all four wheels, traction control, a six speed transmission both manual and automatic.
