Ten years after he decided to build his own super car, John Misumi finally introduces his Vision SZR – a super car that comes in only one production unit! One production unit which required an $ 2 million investment. Still, his dream became reality even if he spent a lot of time and money for that.2011 Vision SZR Picture
Originally named the K/2, the Vision SRZ features a design that has been modified along all this time. For example, in 2005, Misumi changed body panels in order to include a longer wheelbase and wider greenhouse. The Vision SZR is now built on an aluminum chassis with carbon fiber body.
At first, the Vision SZR was tested with a 6.2 L V8 engine generating 630 horsepower, but there is also a 6.0 liter V12 engine with 700 horsepower to power the car. The transmission will be either a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch automatic (electronically-controlled).
The aggressive design combines both classic and modern features, as the Vision SZR was meant to be the “muscle car for the 21st century”. Built on a semi-monocoque chassis made of aluminum and 4130 chrome molybdenum, the super car`s body is crafted from Hexcel carbon fiber strengthen with composite Nomex honeycomb and Nida-Core, making possible a curb weight between 2,450 and 2,875 lbs. The modular construction incorporates a bonded, riveted, and welded rigid cockpit section, as well as interchangeable front and rear extremities with progressive energy absorbing impact protection zones.
The Vision SZR features Custom Forgiato wheels, wrapped around Continental Extreme Contact, 245/35 ZR 19 in the 19” front wheels and 335/30 ZR 20 in the 20” rear wheels.
The interior reveals an custom design, with an ergonomic, leather covered steering wheel standing as an instrument panel with a combination of Analog and digital gauges. There are also custom seats, rear view camera, standard Alpine W505 multimedia station with satellite navigation, DVD, MP3, CD players matched to an Alpine PDX 4.100 amplifier and Alpine SPX-17 PRO speakers.
There are two engine options. The first option is the turbocharged 6.2 L V8 engine producing 630 at 6,600 RPM and 600 lb-ft of torque at 6,600 RPM. The second option is with a 6.0 liter V12 with 700 at 7,500 RPM and 440 lb-ft of torque at 7,500 RPM. These engines will be mated with a six-speed manual or an electronically-controlled dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the exhaust system is made of stainless steel.
When it is about suspension, the car has an adjustable height suspension at the front and back. Double-adjustable shock absorbers and inboard mounted Koni high pressure nitrogen gas are also present.
The brake system features 14 inch ventilated / slotted disks and 4 piston aluminum calipers with stainless steel fluid lines both for the front and back. There is also an anti-lock braking system.
